Overview
The Weld Supervisor will fit and weld complex parts according to drawings for inspection. This role requires the ability to read blueprints and comprehend engineering drawings, tolerances, and weld symbols, and the successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure associates stay on task and meet production goals during shifts.
- Conduct Supervisor / Level 2 inspections and fit-up checks.
- Lead safety meetings and track weekly metrics.
- Monitor and enforce company policies regarding safety and job performance.
- Provide feedback for employee performance appraisals.
- Handoff responsibilities to the oncoming shift.
- Implement 5S and continuous improvement practices.
- Read a tape measure to the 1/16th of an inch.
- Perform basic arithmetic operations in all units of measure.
- Perform MIG and Flux Core welding.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Conduct quality inspections and follow ISO guidelines for product traceability.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Keep accurate records of production output.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years’ experience with welding and fitting.
- Welding experience with carbon, stainless steel, and aluminum materials.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in measuring parts using tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
- Highly organized with exceptional time management skills.
- Ability to work in a non-climate controlled industrial setting.
- Physical capability to perform assigned duties including heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Completion of pre-employment screening including drug test and physical.
- Capable of fixture design and setup.
