Overview
The Welder Mechanic/Machine Operator is responsible for inspecting, operating, and maintaining a block manufacturing plant, including troubleshooting and repairing various types of equipment. This role requires interaction with supervisors, employees, and vendors, and involves supervising plant personnel.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, operate and maintain block manufacturing plant
- Maintain equipment and machinery for crushing and sandwash operations
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical equipment
- Order parts and materials
- Fill out necessary forms and reports
- Supervise plant personnel
- Perform any additional duties as required
Requirements
- Proven ability to weld to industry standards preferred (Gas, Arc)
- Valid driver’s license
- Required minimum tools
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical school as required or equivalent background/experience in electrical or electronics
- Competent math skills to compute measurements for repairs and manufacturing
- Must be flexible to work day, night or graveyard shift
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Random drug testing
- Submit to post-offer employment physical & drug testing
- Shave for respirator fit testing as required
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
- Experience working in block manufacturing plant preferred
