Overview
The Welder position involves welding ferrous and non-ferrous metals using GMAW or Resistance Spot Welding processes. The role includes setting up welding machines, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Weld ferrous and non-ferrous metals using GMAW or Resistance Spot Welding processes.
- Set up and maintain welding machines and related equipment.
- Load parts in fixtures and perform welding and cleanup.
- Operate robotic or cobot welding equipment as needed.
- Grind welds as required.
- Follow directions from the Supervisor.
Requirements
- GED or High School Diploma is required.
- Minimum score of 15 on math worksheet or 18 on Wonderlic test.
- 1 year of production welding experience or training is required.
- Completion of Vo-Tech welding program or equivalent is preferred.
- Completion of physical agility test is required.
- Passage of drug test is required.
- Passage of pre-employment weld test is required.
- 3 years of production welding experience using MIG welding process is preferred.
- Prior weld certifications are a plus.
- Blueprint Test Score of 8 is required.
- Minimum Weld Symbols Test Score of 4 is required.
Additional Information
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
- AWS D1.1 Certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
