Overview
The Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment within a food manufacturing environment. This role works closely with Maintenance Technicians to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support efficient production operations.
Responsibilities
- Install, align, and dismantle industrial machinery and production equipment
- Work collaboratively with Maintenance Technicians to diagnose mechanical issues and implement timely repairs
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on conveyors, packaging machines, motors, gearboxes, and other production equipment
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to complete installations and repairs
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and determine root causes
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed using hand and power tools
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety, food safety, and GMP standards
- Assist in equipment upgrades, line changes, and new installations
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or apprenticeship preferred
- Proven experience as a Millwright or Industrial Mechanic in a manufacturing environment (food industry preferred)
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Basic understanding of electrical systems
- Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills (especially with Maintenance Technicians)
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment

Additional Information
- Manufacturing/production environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
