Overview

Balco is a manufacturer of architectural building products focusing on high-quality building solutions. They are seeking a Fabricator/Welder who enjoys a fast-paced, teamwork environment and is passionate about meeting or exceeding customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Verify that the proper materials are provided to the customer.
• Verify that materials are supplied in proper quantities and proper lengths.
• Check materials to ensure that quality standards are met and maintained.
• Ensure that the materials are marked with the proper mark numbers, if required.
• Accurately document the inspection and rework of non-conforming or rejected material.
• Offer solutions for problems with product or processes.
• Perform required operations to fabricate product as specified.
• Shear and Brake custom parts to customer specifications.
• Read custom part drawings and understand bend allowances.
• Weld products according to specifications.
• Select materials and verify that proper alloys are used.
• Ensure that welds are in accordance with accepted industry and company standards.
• Modify or build specialized equipment and jigs required to fabricate specified configurations.

Requirements

• Knowledge of fabrication and/or welding techniques and tools.
• Knowledge of relative safety standards for welding and willingness to use protective clothing.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Ability to read technical documentation and drawings including details and breakouts.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing.
• 2 or more years of experience as a welder/fabricator, preferably in welding aluminum.
• Experience using power and hand tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Additional Information

• This position operates in a manufacturing environment.
