Overview
Join our build-ready team as an Aluminum GTAW Welder-Fitter, where you will thrive on precision, safety, and craftsmanship by translating blueprints into finished aluminum assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate GTAW/TIG equipment to weld aluminum across varied thicknesses.
- Fit, tack, weld, cut, and grind parts to print using electric, gas, arc, or other welding processes.
- Lay out, position, and secure components based on specifications, drawings, and blueprints.
- Perform manual or semi-automatic welding in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
- Dial in parameters—amperage, voltage, and gas—to achieve proper arc characteristics.
- Maintain equipment via preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and request repairs.
- Complete production and quality logs with accuracy.
- Verify work using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and fixtures; conduct detailed inspections.
Requirements
- 1+ years of TIG experience or equivalent training.
- AWS D1.2 certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
- Pass the CIT weld test.
- Experience with diverse welding procedures and setups.
- Proficiency using electrical/manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Working knowledge of safety standards and consistent use of PPE.
- Manual dexterity and strong attention to detail.
- Process discipline.
