Overview

The Assembly Welder position focuses on maintaining a safe and clean shop environment while performing sub assembly and final assembly of major machines and parts order components. The role requires adherence to safety procedures and effective communication with coworkers and management.

Responsibilities

• Follow direction provided by Floor Supervisor or designee.
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety procedures and policies.
• Represent McLanahan Corporation positively while adhering to the organization's core values.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers, management, and customers in a courteous manner.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Maintain a clean work area utilizing 5S principles.
• Use various hand measuring tools and hand/power tools to meet specifications.
• MIG weld components according to drawings and specifications.
• Identify assembly components and hardware.
• Operate motorized material moving equipment to transport materials.
• Perform visual inspections for overhead crane and/or jib hoist.
• Perform functions at an elevated height according to procedure.
• Cross train in assembly/final assembly.
• Prep weldments and assembly for shipment.

Requirements

• High School Degree or equivalent preferred.
• Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a Manufacturing environment.
• One (1) year of technical training in an industrial setting.
• One (1) year of blueprint reading experience.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Stable work experience with positive behavior.
• Computer literacy for attendance and job tracking.
• Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
