Overview

The Welding Technician at Precision Pulley and Idler (PPI) in Lenox, IA is responsible for producing parts and components according to specifications. This full-time position requires operating welding equipment and various tools to ensure quality and accuracy in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure parts and components are accurate according to specifications.
• Jig, assemble, and weld parts and components.
• Operate a wire welder following specifications for weld penetrations, appearance, and quantity.
• Operate various hand tools and machinery to meet quality expectations.
• Grind, clean, and bevel fit-up of welds where required.
• Use and understand various paperwork such as schedules and technical specifications.
• Request and gather raw materials, parts, and components necessary to complete tasks.
• Perform extra assignments in other areas and related tasks.
• Maintain general housekeeping and maintenance within the work area.
• Observe safety and security procedures and use equipment properly.
• Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Strong commitment to quality and safety.
• Ability to operate equipment to company specifications after training.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
• PPI Weld Certification preferred but not required.
