Overview
This is a construction project with an expected duration of eight to ten months, starting in mid to late May 2026. The position is for a Project Pipefitter Helper/Roustabout in Prudhoe Bay, AK, with a typical schedule of 84 hours per week and all meals and lodging provided by Worley.
Responsibilities
- Assist journeymen in job setup and performance of work.
- Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies.
- Prepare material surfaces for welding.
- Determine required equipment and welding methods.
- Start up and adjust welding machines.
- Detect faulty operation of equipment and notify supervisors.
- Set up and adjust cutting equipment.
- Assist with chipping or grinding off excess weld and slag.
- Assist with cutting, contouring, and beveling metal plates.
- Mark or tag material with job numbers and identifying marks.
- Complete records and perform clean-up activities.
- Operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
Requirements
- Knowledge of machines and tools used in welding.
- Familiarity with drawings, blueprints, specifications, and safety data sheets.
- Ability to operate safety equipment and knowledge of safe work habits.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) certification preferred.
- Graduate of a certified Alaska secondary trade school.
