Responsibilities

• Identify problems and make necessary adjustments related to industrial AC/DC electric motors and generators.
• Use a variety of manual machine tools and balancing equipment for rotating machinery.
• Follow service center safety procedures.
• Operate manual machining tools, including engine lathes, horizontal lathes, milling machines, grinders, drilling machines, and related equipment.
• Safely use overhead, gantry cranes, and lift trucks, and associate with lift rigging.
• Perform mechanical measurements using portable mechanical instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, and portable vibration measurement equipment.

Requirements

• Able to perform basic math functions.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of fabrication and welding experience in an industrial environment preferred.
• Experience in an electric motor repair shop, rotating equipment shop, or heavy industrial maintenance environment preferred.
• Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding; additional certifications are a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, technical drawings, and tape measure dimensions accurately.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication practices, material properties, and welding techniques.
• Ability to use measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, levels, squares, and micrometers.
• Able to understand, perform and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures.
• Excellent technical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision while maintaining high quality standards.
• Self-starter and highly motivated person.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
