Job Description

Overview

Our Beaver Dam facility is seeking Welders who will operate weld machines to fabricate metal parts or assemblies according to specifications, utilizing basic welding theory on a production basis. The position requires adherence to safety standards and involves mandatory overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Operate one or more weld machines to fabricate metal parts or assemblies.
  • Follow WPS weld standards.
  • Inspect and measure machined work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Adjust machine controls and guides.
  • Unload welded parts from robotic welder and place in appropriate containers.
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts for welding.
  • Perform basic MIG, TIG and aluminum welding techniques as needed.
  • Examine finished work pieces for conformance with specifications.
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on equipment and machines.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in manual and robotic welding is desired.
  • Successful completion of an internal welding test.
  • Previous knowledge of fixtures and weld setup parameters.
  • Basic understanding of computers and ability to perform related functions.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Demonstrated detail orientation and self-motivation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.
  • Competent in basic dimensional measuring and use of precision measurement tools.
  • Demonstrated competency in basic shop math.
  • Ability to work with various types of metal forming constraints.
  • Previous experience with overhead crane use is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.

Additional Information

  • Currently on mandatory overtime.
  • 1st Shift: 6:00a to 2:30p M - F.
  • 2nd Shift: 2:30p to 12:00a M - F.
  • 3rd Shift: Sunday through Thursday 9p to 6a.
