Overview

The Welder position on the 2nd shift involves preparing surfaces for welding, fitting parts, and welding piping and manifolds according to blueprint specifications. The role requires experience in TIG or MIG welding and the ability to work with various welding equipment and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces to be welded and fit parts.
• Weld piping and manifolds according to blueprint specifications.
• Cut, grind, drill holes, and weld steel.
• Use plasma cutter to cut I-beams and steel plates.
• Tack weld scrap metal to outline for assembly jigs.
• Position parts in jigs and grind them as needed.
• Anneal parts with acetylene torch to relieve welding stresses.
• Follow blueprints to fabricate manifold tubing systems.
• Cut, clean, and purge tubes, valves, and manifolds for welding.
• Align and secure components for welding.
• Weld valves and hardware into tube bushing manifolds.
