Overview

General Dynamics Electric Boat, the nation’s premier designer and builder of nuclear submarines, is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to contribute to building complex products at the Steel Fab Facility in Florence, S.C.

Responsibilities

• Assist Operations Supervisors with steel processing material reviews and work order closeouts.
• Qualify as (or demonstrate the ability to qualify as) an NDT VT Inspector in accordance with MDD-00948/MDD-01464.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, and manufacturing industry.
• 1+ year of industrial marine environment experience (preferred).
• Completion of vocational, technical, community college, or apprenticeship programs (preferred).
• Relevant formal training or education (preferred).
• Proficiency in blueprint and drawing interpretation (preferred).
• Navy or military experience (preferred).
• Strong organizational, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
