Job Description

Overview

The Thermo Plastic Welder role involves performing welding on thermoplastic materials and fabricating or repairing plastic components. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and collaboration with engineering and production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding on thermoplastic materials using heat tools.
  • Fabricate, modify, or repair plastic parts based on blueprints.
  • Prepare surfaces of thermoplastic materials for welding.
  • Inspect completed welds for design specifications and quality standards.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment and tools.
  • Document welding activities and report issues to supervisors.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams on welding requirements.
  • Stay updated with new welding techniques and participate in training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in thermal plastic welding or related field.
  • Proficient in thermal plastic welding equipment.
  • Strong understanding of thermoplastic materials and welding characteristics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and high-quality standards.
  • Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and welding standards.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various environments.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Certification in a specialty craft is a plus.
  • Safety certifications (OSHA 30 or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience with industrial machinery, welding, or fabrication.
  • Ability to use advanced tools specific to the craft.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
