At Heiden, we build high-quality custom metal fabrication products that our customers depend on every day. This hands-on leadership role is focused on leading the welding team, supporting production, and providing technical guidance in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support welding and fabrication team members on a daily basis.
- Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and meets quality standards.
- Act as the go-to resource for welding processes, prints, and technical questions.
- Coordinate workflow with Operations, Scheduling, and Engineering.
- Monitor labor, identify bottlenecks, and keep production moving.
- Drive improvements in weld quality, consistency, and efficiency.
- Support training and development of welders across skill levels.
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving production or quality issues.
Requirements
- 5+ years of leadership experience in a welding or fabrication environment.
- 5+ years of hands-on welding experience (MIG/TIG – steel, aluminum, stainless).
- Strong ability to read and interpret prints and weld symbols.
- Proven ability to lead teams, make decisions, and hold others accountable.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on shop environment.
- Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and Microsoft Office.
- AWS certifications or formal training a plus.
