The Key Account Sales Consultant for the Public Sector is essential for driving revenue and profit growth within Mid/Large Market customers, focusing on building relationships and identifying business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Spend 100% of time on Public Sector Opportunities and Accounts.
- Sell MSC products and services to achieve individual and corporate sales and profit goals.
- Drive sales at all Public Sector account customer facilities within assigned regions.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations that address customer needs.
- Deliver Quarterly Continuous Improvement Report presentations with key customers.
- Engage customers by linking their business priorities to MSC's value proposition.
- Develop relationships with key Public Sector agencies in the region.
- Gather, organize, and analyze information on Public Sector accounts.
- Establish value before ROI/financial terms.
- Drive momentum by collaborating with customers to define next steps.
- Create constructive tension by reframing customer purchasing needs.
- Tailor presentations and insights specific to customer requirements.
- Utilize Salesforce.com for customer relationship management.
- Identify and arm mobilizers with tools to sell solutions.
- Understand customer value propositions and business objectives.
- Research industry trends impacting customers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with users, influencers, and decision makers.
- Team with Subject Matter Experts to deliver relevant expertise.
- Deliver Cost Savings Documentation to demonstrate service value.
- Manage content in Salesforce.com and other platforms accurately.
- Complete professional development training as assigned.
- Foster MSC culture and support new initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Industrial Distribution, or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of demonstrated success in Public Sector sales preferred.
- Working knowledge of compliance requirements and industry events.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.com.
