Overview
At Spectrum Control, we are seeking a skilled Laser Weld Technician to operate and program high-precision laser systems for creating airtight seals on metal components. Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate automated or manual laser welding systems to create hermetic seals.
- Perform visual inspection using microscopes and utilize non-destructive testing to ensure seal integrity.
- Work with materials such as aluminum, Cupronickel, and stainless steel, ensuring clean surfaces.
- Adjust laser parameters to troubleshoot defects and improve yield.
- Maintain detailed production logs, weld parameters, and quality inspection records.
- Perform routine maintenance on laser machinery and calibration of fixtures.
Requirements
- Proven experience with hermetic laser welding, preferably with fiber or Nd:YAG lasers.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Preferred familiarity with cleanroom environments and stringent quality standards.
- High school diploma; technical certificate or degree in welding/manufacturing is preferred.
- Proficiency with machine control software, HMIs, and MS Office.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with team members.
- Knowledge of basic safety regulations and practices regarding welding operations.
- Ability to use a microscope for extended periods and good hand-eye coordination.
