Overview

The Welder position in San Antonio involves performing diversified hand welding on complex assemblies and structures, focusing on fabricating or repairing products such as machined parts and trenching and shoring equipment. This safety-sensitive role requires compliance with safety regulations and the company's drug and alcohol policy.

Responsibilities

• Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job.
• Plans details of working procedure, tool and material requirements.
• Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals.
• Repairs equipment using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
• Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded.
• Sets up, assembles, and tacks weld parts.
• Repairs worn or defective surfaces.
• Uses burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and cut material to size and shape.
• Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
• May dismantle or cut up obsolete equipment, setting aside parts for scrap dealers.
• Completes other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Must sign acknowledgment of reading and understanding the Company's safety policy.
