Overview

Xylem is a Fortune 500 global water solutions company dedicated to advancing sustainable impact and empowering individuals who make water work every day. They are hiring a Welder for the Tank Product line to set up, weld, clean, and test tank products, utilizing automated welding equipment and ensuring quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Receive instructions and perform operations to build quality products.
• Operate robotic weld machines while maintaining schedule adherence and quality.
• Perform minor robot program adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
• Plan and carry out tasks related to assembling, welding, testing, and prepping products.
• Interpret procedures and utilize correct materials and parameters for welding.
• Identify and verify materials used prior to starting work.
• Obtain necessary materials, fixtures, and tools for assigned duties.
• Pre-clean and post-clean work to meet code and drawing requirements.
• Ensure tank cleanliness prior to releasing to paint/packaging.
• Enter required data on paperwork or electronic systems to indicate work inspection.
• Maintain qualifications by utilizing weld/braze processes at required intervals.
• Verify calibration dates of gauges and measuring tools.
• Lubricate and clean tools and equipment daily.
• Perform daily safety checks on power vehicles and record findings.
• Observe safety and shop rules, notifying supervisors of unsafe conditions.
• Assist and/or train new employees in job classification.
• Maintain housekeeping and a safe environment throughout work areas.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Documented completion of formal weld training involving required weld processes.
• Pass qualification test for GMAW process with steel material.
• Competent in reading and interpreting drawings.
• Capable of performing simple math calculations.
