Overview
The Sheet Metal Foreman position at Sunstate Mechanical Services involves leading a team in commercial sheet metal work across the greater Phoenix area. The role includes teaching apprentices, managing productivity, and ensuring safety compliance while fabricating and installing HVAC systems.
Responsibilities
- Teach apprentices and provide leadership.
- Manage daily labor and productivity with clear objectives.
- Adhere to and enforce safety policies.
- Listen to employee concerns and guide towards resolutions.
- Report all work-related injuries and complete required reports.
- Complete daily paperwork accurately and timely.
- Safely operate a company vehicle during work hours.
- Inventory and track all products delivered to job sites.
- Monitor and track materials on backorder.
- Mark-out/layout all systems and products as per contract documents.
- Maintain all on-site project documentation.
- Fabricate and assemble metal structures based on blueprints.
- Operate various tools and machinery for sheet metal work.
- Install, alter, fabricate, and repair sheet metal products for HVAC systems.
- Perform welding techniques to join metal components.
- Lead and manage the job with moderate support from project management.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must pass a drug test.
- Must pass a motor vehicle history check.
- Must be able to speak English for safety reasons.
- Must have own tool kit.
- Pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check required.
- Able to lift up to 30lbs.
