Overview

TMS International is the leading provider of on-site, industrial steel mill services for steelmakers worldwide. They are seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join their team in Tuscaloosa, AL, where the candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding steel components in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication of steel materials according to blueprints and specifications.
• Operate welding machines, grinders, and other equipment used in steel fabrication.
• Ensure quality of welds and fabrications by adhering to industry standards.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation of welding equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear proper PPE.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a welding program or technical training is preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in welding and fabrication, preferably in a steel mill or manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of welding materials and their properties.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and ability to maintain a safe work environment.
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in varying positions.
• Previous experience in steel mill operations.
• Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, ASME).
• Experience with CNC plasma cutting or other automated systems.

Additional Information

• Dayshift M-F 40-50 hours a week.
• Relocate before starting work to Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
