Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company dedicated to advancing agricultural productivity and vital infrastructure. The Flip Tack Operator/Welder position in Columbus, Nebraska involves moving materials, assembling products, and welding components while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with moving and placing material and product using overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Build two and three piece assemblies with manually controlled machines.
• Weld metal components together according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders using various welding equipment.
• Comply with PPE requirements and participate in department safety.
• Perform operator preventative maintenance on overhead crane, forklift, and welding/cutting equipment.
• Safely use overhead crane to position product for welding, grinding, and assembly.
• Perform routine machine operations such as feeding or unloading a machine.

Requirements

• Must be able to pass the Valmont endorsed 1G and 2G flat weld certification test.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Must excel in a team environment.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate and interact with coworkers positively.
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment.
• Must maintain an acceptable level of production, quality, and attendance.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent or graduation from an accredited trade school for welding.
• One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• One year of previous hands-on welding experience in a professional environment.
• Ability to identify and communicate maintenance or production problems.
• Must have passion and integrity with the drive to excel.
• American Welding Society (AWS) welding certification from a recognized school.
