Overview
As a Multi-Craft Equipment Rebuild and Coatings Specialist at Industrial Plating Company, you will prepare, apply, and finish coatings on various industrial parts, supported by training in machining and grinding. Founded in 1963, the company focuses on helping manufacturers reduce costs and improve quality through high-performance coatings and remanufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Read engineering drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
- Measure and verify specs: thickness, dimensions, TIR, and surface roughness.
- Mask parts to protect critical features during coating.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and complete required safety training.
- Operate forklifts, hoists, and other part-moving equipment safely.
- Use lathes, OD/ID and cylindrical grinders, sandblasting, coating, polishing, and buffing equipment to process parts.
- Perform routine operator maintenance on machines.
- Document work accurately using software and spreadsheets.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Technical certificate/degree a plus.
- Lean/5S exposure preferred.
- Experience with lathes, mills, and cylindrical grinding preferred.
- Operating cranes and hoists preferred.
- MIG, TIG, or stick welding experience preferred.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.

Additional Information
- Weekend shift: 5am-5pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Initial training is Monday-Friday, 5am-1:30pm.
- Weekday shift: 5am-1:30pm Monday-Friday.
- Overtime may be required. Expected 40-50 hours per week.
- Work setting is in person (Chattanooga, TN).
