Overview

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position that serves as a journey-level mechanic responsible for inspecting, machining, welding, and repairing aircraft parts and components. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and must maintain active membership in the AF Reserve unit, receiving military training on average one weekend per month.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, overhauls, machines, and repairs various types and sizes of industrial plan/facilities equipment.
• Performs complex, intricate, specialized, or nonstandard machining and various welding assignments.
• Plans, develops, writes, and/or updates complex coded source programs in designated computer command languages.
• Ensures compliance with security directives and practices good safety and health habits in all work areas.
• Controls tools and certifies work produced under the USAF Technical Order Program.
