Overview

You will serve as a PIPEFITTER in the Pipe Shop(56A), Hull Division (TRF 310), Repair Department (TRF-300), TRIDENT Refit Facility (TRIREFFAC), Kings Bay, Georgia of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Responsibilities

• Remove and install piping systems and equipment of submarines.
• Replace piping components such as valves and strainers and prepare piping systems for welding.
• Use a variety of pipefitting tools such as grinders, brazing torch, measuring tools, hydraulic pipe benders, and silver solder to complete work assigned.
• Disassemble, maintain, clean, and assemble hose systems for hydraulics, oil, water, etc.
• Perform testing on repaired and installed piping systems, heat exchangers, and condensers for proper functional capability.
• Operate chemical flushing rigs to clean piping systems and components.
• Determine adequacy of existing pipe hangers and replace when necessary.
• Remove, maintain, and test tank level indicators in accordance with established procedures.
• Read, research, and interpret basic or complex blueprints, instructions, and specifications to perform pipefitting work assigned.
