Overview

The position of Sheet Metal Mechanic (Aircraft/Painter) involves planning, fabricating, modifying, repairing, assembling, and installing complex aircraft sheet metal parts and performing painting tasks, including surface preparation and paint matching.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lay out work from blueprints, sketches, and specifications for aircraft sheet metal structures.
• Examine aircraft sheet metal structures for cracks, breaks, holes, and other defects.
• Prepare surfaces of aircraft sheet metal structures by removing old paint and rust, filling cracks, and sanding.
• Use and maintain tools necessary for the job.
• Follow established safety practices and maintain a safe work environment.
