Job Description
Overview
You will serve as a Pipefitter in the Production Division, Public Works Department Naval Station Norfolk, of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic, responsible for interpreting pipefitting assignments and ensuring the integrity of piping systems.
Responsibilities
- Interpret pipefitting assignments to meet workload requirements.
- Make pressure joints to install piping sections.
- Calculate pipe, joint, or valve sizes needed to support pressures of systems.
- Inspect and test systems for damage, leaks, and blockages.
- Determine causes of problems and recommend corrective action on pipefitting work.
