Overview

The Pipefitter Supervisor is part of the Engineering Program's Plumbing/Machine Shop, responsible for plumbing and machine work projects at North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Healthcare System facilities. This role involves supervising approximately seven subordinates.

Responsibilities

• Inspect jobs in-progress and finished work for quality and completeness.
• Record time and material expended per job.
• Ensure proper completion of all NFPA and Joint Commission quality assurance tests and inspections.
• Maintain up-to-date, legible records of tests and inspections to ensure patient safety and TJC/NFPA compliance.
• Direct and assign work to employees.

Requirements

• Must be physically able to stand, stoop, turn, crouch, and balance in difficult positions.
• Must be able to climb ladders, work in close physical spaces, and lift 60 pounds when necessary.
• Will be required to supervise from/on scaffolding, high ladders, or rooftops, outside in inclement weather including extreme heat during hurricane alerts.
