Overview
The Boeing Company is seeking a Tooling Welder to join their Welding team in Auburn, Washington. This role involves working on aerospace projects, contributing to the creation and maintenance of tooling and equipment while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Perform certified and qualified welding and thermal cutting to fabricate, repair, rework, and modify jigs, fixtures, dies, tools, and handling equipment.
- Plan and layout the sequence of work operations for efficient task completion.
- Complete and maintain all-position pipe performance qualification tests as required.
- Execute various welding techniques including FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, and SAW according to Boeing Welding Procedure Specifications.
- Perform brazing, oxy-fuel cutting, plasma arc cutting, and other welding-related tasks as needed.
- Follow drawings, specifications, and instructions to ensure quality and compliance.
- Operate shop equipment to prepare materials before and after welding.
- Safely move, lift, and position materials using shop lifting equipment.
- Fabricate shop aids and holding devices, and align work in welding fixtures.
- Plan welding and material fit-up sequences to maximize accessibility.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of welding equipment and work areas.
- Organize and manage welding supplies and prepare requisition lists.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by team leaders or supervisors.
- Assist in identifying and documenting best practices related to structural welding.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Welding.
- 1+ years of experience reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
- 1+ years of experience working with powered hand tools.
- Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently.
