Overview

The Boeing Company is seeking a Welder - Tubes and Ducts to join their Welding team in Algona and Auburn, Washington. This role involves the precise fabrication and assembly of critical components for aviation solutions, requiring expertise in various welding techniques and collaboration with engineers and skilled professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Execute machine welding techniques, including plasma arc, gas tungsten arc, electro slag, gas metal arc, and submerged arc welding.
  • Select appropriate electrodes, gas cups, weld current, arc voltage, travel speed, gas flow, wire size, and feed rate according to specifications.
  • Set up and align workpieces in welding fixtures for stability and precision.
  • Utilize various types of welding equipment and determine the most effective welding method for each task.
  • Plan the sequence of welding operations to maximize accessibility.
  • Prepare for and follow up on welding tasks by cleaning, chipping, grinding, and wire brushing materials.
  • Conduct flame hardening, annealing, bending, and forming of details and assemblies as necessary.
  • Interpret and work from prints, sketches, specifications, and instructions.
  • Demonstrate welding proficiency to meet quality standards.
  • Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, or permits for welding assignments.
  • Request repairs and maintenance for welding equipment proactively.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience with Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).
  • 1+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8 hour shift.
  • High school graduate or GED preferred.
