Overview

Boeing Global Services is seeking an Associate Welding Fabrication Specialist to join the SAMC back shop team in San Antonio, TX. The role involves planning and performing welding operations while ensuring compliance with various specifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan the sequence of welding operations working from assembly outlines and specifications.
• Set up and operate gas, manual, GTAW, GMAW welding equipment.
• Adjust speed of travel, amperage, and distance from torch to metal during welding.
• Perform certified welding on company products requiring high concentration and manual coordination.
• Meet customer, engineering, and NDT specifications beyond those of journeyman welders.
• May perform production welding associated with lower rated classifications.
• Pass an eye exam.

Requirements

• 3+ years of TIG welding experience with aluminum, Inconel, stainless steel, and titanium.
• Experience reading blueprints and structural drawings.
• Experience using basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Ability to work variable shifts including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read TIG welding blueprints and specifications.
• Able to use a 2-person lift for weights greater than 50lbs.
