Overview

The Welder I role involves contributing to the manufacturing of fabricated products by interpreting engineering documents and utilizing modern welding equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering documents and utilize modern welding equipment.
  • Pass welder qualification tests using GMAW and MCAW on carbon steel and stainless-steel materials.
  • Utilize tools such as tape measures, angle grinders, and cranes to aid in the welding process.
  • Understand and satisfy job requirements based on work instructions and welding procedures.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of welding equipment.
  • Complete job-related paperwork accurately.
  • Cross-function within the department based on production demands.
  • Visually inspect own welds for quality and defects.
  • Attend welding and job-related training to gain proficiency.
  • Work independently within established processes with relative supervision.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1 year of relevant working experience as a Welder.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW).
  • Ability to fit and weld simple to moderate weldments using shop math.
