Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company that focuses on advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. The Back Welder position involves operating a sub-arc welder to ensure quality and efficiency in manufacturing pole shafts.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sub-arc welder and place welds on shafts.
• Gouge and grind areas to prepare for ultrasonic inspections.
• Weld, grind, and repair poles prior to inspection by Quality Inspectors.
• Repair seaming defects as directed by Quality Inspectors.
• Maintain accountability and perform maintenance on welding equipment.
• Deliver products on time without manufacturing errors.
• Participate in department safety and adhere to safety policies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Pass an AWS welder qualification test.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a heavy manufacturing environment or graduation from an accredited trade school with one year of experience.
• Knowledge of welding properties of various metals and alloys.
• Thorough knowledge of welding procedures and practices.
• Ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics and measurements.
• Familiarity with Valmont’s quality procedures and environmental policies.

• Available Shift: 4th - Friday to Sunday from 5:00am - 5:00pm, 5th - Friday to Sunday from 5:00pm - 5:00am.
