Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company that is dedicated to advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. They are currently seeking a motivated individual for a Welder position at their Plymouth, IN facility, where the role involves welding metal structural components for communication towers and overhead sign structures.

Responsibilities

• Fuse or weld metal structural components using GMAW arc welding.
• Perform welding operations with limited planning from blueprints or specifications.
• Utilize safety devices and wear mandatory personal protective equipment.
• Adjust welding equipment to prescribed settings.
• Maintain and operate production tooling and welding equipment safely.
• Read and complete labor reporting systems and blueprints.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Acceptable attendance and prior employment record.
• 1 year of hands-on MIG welding experience in a production environment.
• Multi-pass, stack layering welding experience.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes, prior experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read weld symbols and understand blueprints.
• Must be able to use and accurately read a tape measure.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Positive communication and interaction with coworkers.
• Passion and integrity with a drive to excel.
