Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company that focuses on advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. The Aluminum Welder position involves welding metal structural components for communication towers and other structures, requiring a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Fuse or weld metal structural components using GMAW arc welding.
  • Perform welding operations with limited planning from blueprints.
  • Utilize safety devices and wear mandatory personal protective equipment.
  • Adjust welding equipment to prescribed settings.
  • Maintain and operate production tooling and welding equipment safely.
  • Read and complete labor reporting and standard shop forms.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One to three years of hands-on MIG welding experience.
  • Ability to calculate simple mathematics and interpret shop drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs like Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to read weld symbols and understand blueprints.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate and interact positively with coworkers.
