Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company dedicated to advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. The Sub-Arc Seamer Welder is responsible for operating a welding machine to create continuous seams on pole shafts, contributing to the production of steel electrical poles.

Responsibilities

• Fuse metal structural components together using Submerged Arc Welding processes.
• Perform welding operations from blueprints and specifications.
• Assemble operations according to established procedures.
• Move pole shafts using an overhead crane.
• Maintain equipment and tools responsibly.
• Participate in department safety practices.

Requirements

• Successful completion of an internal welding test.
• Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters.
• Knowledge of welding properties of various metals.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
