Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company dedicated to advancing agricultural productivity and vital infrastructure. The Sub-Arc Seamer Welder is responsible for the setup and operation of the flux core sub-arc seam welding machine to create continuous seamed welds on pole shafts.

Responsibilities

• Fuse metal structural components using Submerged Arc Welding processes.
• Perform welding operations from blueprints and specifications.
• Assemble operations according to established procedures.
• Move pole shafts using an overhead crane.
• Participate in department safety and maintain tools and equipment.

Requirements

• Successful completion of an internal welding test.
• Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters.
• Knowledge of welding properties of various metals.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics.
• Ability to recognize and solve practical problems.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Wear required personal protective equipment.
