Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company that impacts millions globally through technology that enhances agricultural productivity and vital infrastructure. The Submerged Arc Seam Welder position involves operating welding machines to create seamed welds on steel electrical poles and other structures during the evening shift.

Responsibilities

  • Fuse metal structural components using Submerged Arc Welding processes.
  • Perform welding operations from blueprints and specifications.
  • Set up work and determine operation sequences for welding.
  • Use hand tools and measuring devices for assembling operations.
  • Move pole shafts using an overhead crane and gather necessary materials.
  • Maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an internal welding test.
  • Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters.
  • Knowledge of welding properties of various metals.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics.
  • Ability to recognize and solve practical problems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment.

Additional Information

  • Evening shift from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am, Monday to Saturday.
  • Starting wage of $26.32/hr plus $1.50/hr shift differential.
