Overview

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Welder I for the Weekend Shift to perform hand fusion and machine welding processes in a state-of-the-art aerospace manufacturing facility. The role requires U.S. citizenship and offers opportunities for training and advancement in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform hand and/or machine welding and associated metal joining processes.
  • Work from drawings, sketches, welding machine schedules, and verbal and written instructions.
  • Make required settings to equipment and gas flow to obtain quality welds.
  • Prepare parts for welding, align, and secure details.
  • Operate computer-controlled welding equipment and manipulate hand welding torch.
  • Utilize X-Ray film or black light process to determine extent of repairs and repair imperfections.
  • Use measuring instruments to check dimensions and record results.
  • Perform routine servicing of equipment following specified procedures.
  • Refer difficult problems to supervisor or working leader.
  • Maintain appropriate metal joining certifications.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of related experience or a completed degree/certificate from a vocational school with 0-1+ years of related experience.
  • Certification and maintenance of welding certification in a minimum of two metal groups preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Flexibility around shifts and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

Additional Information

  • Weekend Shift: Friday-Sunday, 6am-6:30pm, work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours.
  • Onsite role located in North Berwick, ME.
