Overview

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Welder/Brazer to perform various welding operations and support fabrication processes for powder containers. This role requires U.S. citizenship and offers an opportunity to contribute to the future of flight in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of hand and machine fusion welding (Mig and Tig) operations to construct powder containers.
• Perform routine maintenance work on equipment with little to no supervision.
• Prepare all parts to be fitted together for fabrication, including grinding, polishing, and cleaning.
• Fabricate stainless steel extrusion cans.
• Seal and prepare cans for shipment.
• Comply with all company rules and regulations outlined in the employee handbook.
• Support the cell’s continuous improvement and all CORE and EH&S initiatives.
• Utilize basic computer skills for general use of Microsoft Office.
• Apply shop mathematics involving decimals and fractions.
• Problem solve minor fabrication and equipment issues.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of 1 year experience.
• Strong attendance record.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work hours outside of the regular shift.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to wear a respirator.
• Physical ability to ascend, descend stairs, stand for extended periods, bend, squat, twist, reach overhead, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Additional Information

• The position will work a schedule of Monday - Thursday (4x10) 2:00pm - 12:00am (7th shift).
• The role is onsite, requiring commuting to and from the assigned site.
