Overview

The Welder I (TIG) position is a 2nd shift role based in Wilson, NC, where the successful candidate will perform welding operations using TIG and other welding techniques. The company, Collins, specializes in advanced cockpit displays and digital solutions for aviation customers.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate welding equipment based on technical drawings and blueprints.
• Perform welding operations on materials like nitronics, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Inspect and repair welds, ensuring quality and compliance with standards.
• Follow safety and compliance standards, maintaining a clean work area.
• Assist in training other welders and plan various welding operations.

Requirements

• Typically requires HS diploma or equivalent, or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
• 1+ years of welding experience.
• Previous TIG welding experience preferred.
• Thin-wall welding experience preferred.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.

Additional Information

• This is a 2nd shift position with hours from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
• Weekend overtime may be required.
