Overview

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Sheet Metal Mechanic for their 2nd shift in Jupiter, Florida. The role involves performing complex sheet metal operations to fabricate and repair aerospace components, requiring attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex hand or machine sheet metal operations to fabricate and repair aerospace parts.
  • Assist other trades in fabricating major assemblies involving sheet metal techniques.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines such as shears and brakes.
  • Safely utilize hand tools including grinders and drills.
  • Create drawings or sketches from oral descriptions.
  • Read and visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings or blueprints.
  • Work in adverse conditions such as confined spaces and at heights.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of trades training.
  • Ability to operate sheet metal working machines.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments.
  • 5+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience with shop mathematics including trigonometry and geometry.
  • 1+ years of experience using measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.

Additional Information

  • This is an onsite position on 2nd shift.
  • Work hours are from midnight to 7:00 AM, working 6.5 hours but paid for 8 hours.
