Overview
The Metal Fabrication and Welding Tech at Raytheon is responsible for executing mechanical fabrication efforts while collaborating with support technicians, engineers, and customers. The role requires a strong background in metal fabrication and welding to produce high-quality parts and assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate critical prototype aerospace parts and test assemblies using various metal fabrication tools.
- Operate general machine shop tools and use standard dimensional measuring tools.
- Work from basic sketches and underdeveloped drawing packages as well as model renderings.
- Manage all aspects of fabrication including setup, safe operation, inspection, and workload management.
- Coordinate work in a multi-program-controlled area.
Requirements
- Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience welding MIG and TIG.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience with press breaks, rollers, and sheet metal forming tools.
- Six (6) or more years of interpreting mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to inspect fabricated parts using standard precision measuring instruments.
