Westinghouse Electric Company is at the forefront of nuclear energy innovation. As a Welder, you will perform high-quality welding operations across various materials in both workshop and onsite environments, adhering to approved procedures and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and maintain a range of BS EN ISO 9606-1 & BS EN ISO 9606-4 welder approvals.
- Produce welding work that meets quality requirements, specification and NDT acceptance criteria.
- Read and interpret technical engineering drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
- Operate and maintain welding equipment safely and efficiently.
- Complete documentation for weld traceability and certification.
- Work collaboratively within the fabrication team to meet work package deadlines.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations.
Requirements
- 5 years+ experience working within high quality welding role.
- Pipe fitting experience/skills.
- Fabrication experience/skills including development, rolling, pressing, marking out, drilling, punching.
- Familiarity with NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) processes.
- Time served apprenticeship in welding/fabrication (NVQ level 3 or equivalent).
- Hold or have previously held BS EN ISO 9606 welder qualifications (or equivalent).
- Proven track record of producing welding work that meets quality requirements, specification and NDT acceptance criteria, including radiography.
- Capable of interpreting technical engineering drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
