Overview

Westinghouse Electric Company is at the forefront of nuclear energy innovation. As a Welder, you will perform high-quality welding operations across various materials in both workshop and onsite environments, adhering to approved procedures and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and maintain a range of BS EN ISO 9606-1 & BS EN ISO 9606-4 welder approvals.
  • Produce welding work that meets quality requirements, specification and NDT acceptance criteria.
  • Read and interpret technical engineering drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Complete documentation for weld traceability and certification.
  • Work collaboratively within the fabrication team to meet work package deadlines.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • 5 years+ experience working within high quality welding role.
  • Pipe fitting experience/skills.
  • Fabrication experience/skills including development, rolling, pressing, marking out, drilling, punching.
  • Familiarity with NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) processes.
  • Time served apprenticeship in welding/fabrication (NVQ level 3 or equivalent).
  • Hold or have previously held BS EN ISO 9606 welder qualifications (or equivalent).
  • Proven track record of producing welding work that meets quality requirements, specification and NDT acceptance criteria, including radiography.
  • Capable of interpreting technical engineering drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.

  • Work location is at the Springfields site near Preston.
  • Candidates may be required to perform a trade test at interview stage.
