Position Title: Structural Fitter Welder (Heavy Plate)

Wage: up to $27.00 per hour based on experience

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6:00am-3:30pm

QPS Employment Group is seeking an experienced Structural Fitter Welder to join a growing team specializing in heavy plate fabrication located in Cudahy, WI. This role involves fitting and welding structural components using blueprints and specifications, with a focus on precision and quality. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.

Structural Fitter Welder (Heavy Plate) Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Fit and weld heavy plate material up to 1 inch thick.

• Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols.

• Perform MIG welding using .032–.045 wire.

• Measure, cut, and align materials to ensure proper fit-up.

• Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, torches, and measuring tools.

• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Structural Fitter Welder (Heavy Plate) Requirements:

• Previous experience as a structural fitter/welder in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.

• Strong blueprint reading and layout skills.

• Experience working with heavy plate (up to 1").

• Proficiency in MIG welding (.032–.045 wire).

• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.

• Strong attention to detail and workmanship.

• Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.

• Welding certifications are a plus.

• Experience with large structural assemblies preferred.
