Summit City Steel Erection is hiring craftsmen at every level for structural steel erection, pre-engineered metal building construction, crane services, and millwright work across Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio. Responsibilities
- Perform structural steel erection including columns, beams, and girders.
- Install pre-engineered metal buildings from major manufacturers.
- Operate cranes and perform heavy industrial structural repair and equipment installation.
- Work on decking, bridging, and miscellaneous metals.
- Conduct critical pick and engineered lift planning.
Requirements
- Willingness to work hard and safely.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to jobsites in IN, MI, IL, and OH.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
- Welders must have test-ready skills and their own hood; AWS D1.1 certification is a plus.
- Experience with PEMB manufacturers like Nucor, Butler, Chief, Kirby, or American Buildings is a plus.
- For foreman roles, proven ability to run crews and ensure safety and quality.
