Overview

Illinois Iron is a growing metal fabrication shop in Rockford with a reputation for doing things right. They are looking for a seasoned Fabricator who can independently interpret blueprints and take ownership of their work.

Responsibilities

• Independently interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders with minimal direction.
• Cut, fit, and assemble metal components to tight tolerances using saws, drills, and grinders.
• Perform MIG/TIG welding and self-inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy.
• Catch issues early, problem-solve on the floor, and keep production moving.
• Maintain a safe, organized workspace and uphold shop standards.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on fabrication experience.
• Strong blueprint reading and layout skills.
• Welding experience (MIG/TIG) strongly preferred.
• Self-directed, precise, and takes pride in work that’s done right.
