Overview

Responsibilities

• Lays out, aligns and welds fabricated, cast and forged components to assemble structural forms according to blueprints and metallurgy.
• Installs, modifies, and makes repairs to pipe, boilers, towers, exchangers, furnaces, and drums.
• Sets up equipment and welds either pipe, plate, or structural steel using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment.
• Works from blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
• Produces quality work with reasonable efficiency.
• Performs simple piping installations and repairs.
• Assists other mechanics.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance industry experience.
• Must pass required weld test.
• Must be able to fabricate, bolt up and install piping systems.
• Selected candidates must be able to complete physical functions including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and other repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodation.
