Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our fabrication shop team in Buckner, KY. In this role, you’ll apply your expertise in welding and metal fabrication to produce, assemble, and repair structural components with precision, adhering to ASME codes and engineering requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding in all positions (MIG, TIG, STICK) on a wide variety of materials.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine appropriate welding processes.
  • Fabricate, cut, bevel, and prepare materials with allowance for shrinkage and expansion.
  • Produce welds to ASME code and engineering specifications, stamping all welds with identification as required.
  • Execute various weld types including lap, 'V' butt, fillet, and repair welds on machine parts, guards, piping, and fittings.
  • Operate welding equipment, hoists, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment; keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Maintain accurate records for production data (time, quantity, inventory, and heat numbers).
  • Adhere to company safety standards, use PPE, and report unsafe conditions immediately.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • AWS Certification in GMAW and SMAW (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience fabricating structural steel and railings.
  • Formal training in welding techniques or equivalent on-the-job experience.
  • Solid math and measurement skills (basic math, algebra, geometry).
  • Proficient in pipe and structural layout and fit-up.
  • Skilled with inspection and measuring instruments.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with team members.
  • Self-motivated, customer-focused, and able to work with minimal supervision.
