Overview

The Aluminum Tig Welder role involves preparing surfaces for welding, fitting parts, and welding piping and manifolds according to blueprint specifications. The position requires experience in TIG or MIG welding and the ability to work with carbon steel structural shapes.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surfaces to be welded and fits parts.
• Welds piping and manifolds to blueprint specifications.
• Cuts, grinds, drills holes, and welds steel.
• Uses plasma cutter to cut I-beams and steel plates.
• Tack welds scrap metal to outline for assembly jigs.
• Positions parts in jigs and uses files, chisels, and grinders as needed.
• Anneals parts with acetylene torch to remove welding stresses.

Requirements

• Requires 2-4 years of TIG or MIG welding experience.
• Must be able to weld carbon steel structural shapes and skid frames.
• Ability to weld from all angles and positions.
• Possess mechanical aptitude.
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
